Bathroom Tiles China Painting by Emma
We had to remodel our bathroom and as so as Emma heard they were going to retile the bathtub she knew it was her calling to paint the tiles.
She had two weeks to design and paint the tiles and have everything set for when they were going to tile the tub. She decided on a tropical ocean scene and then the drawings began. Actual size layout and drawings filled our patio and then the painting began.
To give you the size of this seahorse he is done on 4 1/2" tiles and sorry but my pictures don't really show the amount of color that is actually in the pieces.
Tropical corals and sponges along with colorful fish were painted near the bottom of the tub. If you know anything about china painting many of these had to be painted and fired several times to get the color she needed.
Schools of fish were placed in locations going up the tub.
She spent a lot of time on the layout so that fishes and scenes came out right so that it looked nice when done.
Sorry about the pictures being dark I will try to get better ones . The whales were done near the back of the tub area near the top. For size remember these were done on 4 1/2" bathroom tiles.
Can you imagine talking a shower or bath and looking at this tropical wonderland around you. I bet her love of diving in Hawaii had something to do with her ideas.
What tropical scene would be complete without a jellyfish and a skin diver overlooking the beauty below.
For two weeks she painted and planned and what we ended up with was a beautiful tropical smile when we take our showers and can remember our times playing in the warm waters of the tropics.
